Why Attend:

Understand the key concepts of Component-based System Engineering (CBSE)
Understand how component technologies complement data-centricity to build robust and scalable distributed systems
Learn about a new component technology called Unified Component Model (UCM), allowing easier development, deployment and configuration of component-based Data Distribution Service (DDS) applications
Discover the importance of tooling to the successful implementation of these solutions
Find out how you can access these technologies and get involved in the definition of the emerging standard

This webcast will introduce the key concepts of component-based system engineering and show the benefits of combining data-centric and component-based design approaches. A new component technology is emerging for distributed, real-time and embedded systems, which will be a future OMG standard, called 'Unified Component Model (UCM)'. UCM is a middleware-independent component model that specifies a complete development process starting from the system design to the its deployment. The most important feature of UCM, with regard to existing component technologies, is its ability to (1) integrate any middleware for component interactions, and (2) manage the deployment and the configuration of this middleware.

The webcast will present the integration of UCM and the Data Distribution Service (DDS) and the resulting advantages on a DDS application development and deployment. Furthermore, as a methodology, UCM will be supported by a set of modeling tools that will assist the development team and improve its productivity. This aspect will also be addressed by the webcast.
