can we transmit audio and video using DDS?

Hi Hatem,

Sure, you can consider modelling a structure with an unbounded sequence of octets to send raw data.

Hi Hatem,

With DDS you model your information in IDL. Via a pre-processor that is delivered with each DDS implementation, you can generate code (in many languages) for typed DataWriters to send and DataReaders to receive that information. The DDS API (for your selected language) provides all functions to create these entities in your application code and send/receive data.

Hi Niels,

Thank you for your answer.
So I suppose that I have to model my video/audio stream to have a sequence of octets that I can send via DDS?

Hi Hatem,

That could be a good approach indeed.
