Is it possible to create topics that only certain subscribers may read from?

The system I'm thinking about is one there you have multiple computers connected to a common network. Some of the computers are supposed to communicate which each other in there own secret domain while all other are able to communicate with each other on the public domain. A computer may interact on both domains while some are only allowed to communicate on the public domain.

How do you build a system like this? Is it even possible using DDS?

Hi Tommy,

Such security-features are currently not standardized, but OpenSplice DDS has a secure-networking option that can do what you want.

Do you have any reference to more information about this option?

Hi Tommy, security is an extension to our open-source OpenSplice DDS implementation (see www.opensplice.org). You can download free trials for our extended editions (that include security from www.opensplice.com). These trial-editions come with a security-configuration-guide that provide detailed information on features/configuration etc. of our secure-networking option.

Regards,
Hans
