I posted this in the OpenSplice forums but havent had anyone take a stab at it yet:

"I haven't yet done much digging, but is there a way to serialize/deserialize DDS topics in OpenSplice API? I wasn't sure how things like DDS sequences would be effected, and was hoping that I wouldnt have to write a serialize/deserialize function for every topic that I use in my IDL. I might have a requirement where information I am holding in topics needs to be sent over straight UDP. "

I've looked through the source, its not easy to follow through their serialization methods. If anyone has any tips for using their built in methods, it would be appreciated.

Hi James,

You don't have to write your own serialize/deserialize code. Just 'feed' your IDL into the IDL-compiler as provided with the product and it will create the typed readers/writers in your targeted language as well as will create the required type-support routines that facilitate the automatic serialization/deserialization of topic samples.

Regards,
Hans
