Hello,

I am implementing QoS in service oriented communication by using certain Quality of Service policies used in DDS. I had a few doubts with respect to Lifespan policy.

After syncing clocks when I am generating timestamps for sent and received data I have 3 possibilities. Can someone please help me decide.

1) Checking if data is valid just by comparing it with time of production of data.

2)Checking if data is still valid by setting an expiration time.

3)Checking if data is valid by comparing current time with (time of production of data + Lifespan)

I want to decide all these keeping in mind the number of bytes we will require for the timestamps and if rollover occurs. Kindly let me know what can be done
