PrismTech’s Vortex data sharing solution helps enable B+B SmartWorx focus on the Internet of Things market
PrismTech, a global leader in software platforms for distributed systems, today announced that B+B SmartWorx has selected its Vortex intelligent data sharing platform to strengthen its growing Internet of Things (IoT) market presence. B+B SmartWorx, a provider of IoT and network edge platforms, will deploy Vortex in its next generation of Industrial IoT gateways.
“During our evaluation process, we found that Vortex delivered superior data connectivity and offered the robust set of Qualities of Service we required,” said Tim Taberner, Global Product Manager for Advanced IoT Gateways, B+B SmartWorx. “It enables the high performance interoperable data sharing between components deployed in our Swarm Intelligence architecture, contributing to our competitive edge in the IoT gateway market.”
One of the premier B+B SmartWorx product lines that will employ PrismTech’s Vortex is SmartSwarm. The product will provide customers greater flexibility and choice in the way data is enriched, aggregated, filtered and routed, allowing B+B SmartWorx and its partners and customers to quickly and easily integrate and translate data in different formats and using different protocols, either coming from the sensors to the applications or from the applications to backend systems in the cloud.
Based on the OMG’s Data Distribution Service (DDS) open standard, Vortex provides device-to-device, device-to-cloud and cloud-to-cloud data sharing in real time. It is a crucial enabler for systems that must reliably and securely deliver high volumes of data with stringent end-to-end qualities-of-service. Vortex has the ability to deliver the right information to the right place at the right time – a perfect fit for IoT applications.
“The new smart IoT products that B+B SmartWorx is launching are an excellent fit for the performance and interoperable data connectivity that Vortex provides,” said Keith Steele, Founder, PrismTech. “Our relationship with B+B SmartWorx also is significant as it again emphasizes the growing adoption of Vortex in the Industrial IoT market.”
